When will movies become good again? Seems everything post strikes (writers, actors, teachers union), except for the ocassional Seth Rogen offering, has been lackluster at best, and I find myself stretching to love mediocre because there is nothing better. It is a sad state when your 13 year old nephew does not want to see a Star Wars cartoon.

The really scarry thing is that entertainment & movies are America’s chief export (sorry rest of the world). Not to be totally picking on “Burn After Reading” as it is not all your fault, you were just the latest studio mess I watched. It is embarassing for me, as a guy, to say the best thing about that movie was Brad Pitt. I’m going back to YouTube and watch “Chocolate Rain” until my brain bleeds, time better spent.

The new Transformers movie has a new cast member, Devastator. He’s composed of 7 different robots to make of one of the largest and most powerful Decepticons of all. He’s powerful, has a history of challenging Megatron and track record of not being too smart; a vocabulary equal to that of the Hulk.

Preliminary illustrations make him look big. In comparison, Devastator should be a huge foe for any Autobot to take on. This is why I am hoping for the Dinobots.

As a avid fan of Transformers and a proud owner of about 60+ Transformers, I can truly say the Michael Bay has really bastardized the franchise. Never in the history has Transformers has it been focused on humans as much as Bay did.

The First movie, the Transformers were a side effect of a human drama and the Transformers themselves had very few lines to speak of. It was never shown the true struggle of power within the Decepticon ranks and the mentoring, honor and respect the Autobots present and offer.

In comparison to the original Transformers movie, it was a travesty to actually place some of those scenes on film.

But as a fan, and as any true fan of something, you will stay with it to find/watch/witness that one point where redemption happens and previous errors will be forgiven. So yes, I will be watching and waiting for the next movie. From my perspective, it has to be better and honestly, who can get tired of watching vehicles transform?!

While not everyone will be happy about this [including my wife], TRON 2 [TR2N] is coming out to theaters near you and our good friend Jeff Bridges is going to be in it.

The original Tron was released in 1982. The fact they were able to complete that movie with the technology they had is simply amazing. It was a collection of CGI and Animation. I loved the plug for Mickey Mouse during the spiders, going through the mountains. It’s only there for second, but it’s there.

While the trailer for the movie has been removed from YOUTUBE the teaser [as of this article] is still on Gizmodo [See it there].

There is actually a lot you can do with this series and sorry, but it’s really going to be a technie movie. So I am sure I’ll love it [and my wife hate it].

But it’s all gonna be worth it for those light cycles. Watch for me. I’ll be the one with the bicycle helmet laced with glowy bendy things. Cya There.

MTV Movies Blog » Vin Diesel Promises Two More Riddick Sequels

V For Vin Diesel from Jeremiah Lewis on Vimeo.

The way I look at it Vin Diesel has just a good a shot at playing Conan in space as anyone else. If Arnold can do it, so can Vin. First there was Pitch Black and then Chronicles of Riddick; technically there will be 4 total. I guess the serious roles don’t really get him paid.

I actually liked the ‘Cronicles of Riddick’… The acting wasn’t top notch, but it was worth it for those shined eyes and the killer knife action.
