As anyone knows that has a PC and lets it run all the time, you have a little monster on your hands. This little monster has a video card, power supply, CPU(s) and hard drives. All these things put off heat. It’s like a small furnace running all the time.

Anyone who has ever been to a data center, or has more than 1 computer in a small room knows, that room is always going to be hotter. In the winter time just sleep in that room with the door closed; you’ll be comfy/cozy.

I found this video and it’s just ‘kewl’, but not only is it kewl, but it would actually save you money- AND I think it would also save you your PC, because heat is your PC’s arch enemy. Heat is breaking down the PC from the time the poor thing gets it’s taste of power. Additionally, you wouldn’t have to worry about the fans getting clogged up with dust! There’s no dust when it’s submerged.

I love this concept as a production model. It’s never gonna happen, but it fixes some issues.

The idea of having a CPU cooled by a fluid is an idea that’s been around a while, but I don’t think many actually think about submerging the whole system in a fluid to keep the system cooled. The cooler a system can be kept the better it performs [there are limits].

Maybe one day you’ll go to the store and pickup a PC and it’s gonna slosh around while your walking and carrying it home. Sounds fun. I’d buy the little toy fish and treasure chest to go with it.

With all the talk about the environment, green house gases and electric cars, I don’t think the Chevy Volt is going to cut it with the public. Why? Well one, the surface the electric car is the answer to a lot of peoples issues with high and fluctuating prices, but no ones seems to be addressing the issue of cost it would take to charge these cars.

Electric Utility companies are, and have been, reporting a strain on the electrical stability of this country [US] for some time, and if electric cars take off in popularity, the utility companies are going to respond by raising rates and spouting issues of rising demand, based on more electric cars. Then where will we be?

GM is losing loads of money everyday because they chose to ignore the signs of the future, didn’t innovate on gas mileage and kept building massive fuel guzzling vehicles. Once the most popular vehicles, SUV’s were hot tickets; everyone had one and if you were monetarily well-off you owned one for social status. Now, if you own a SUV, you still have money put your losing lot of it at the pump. Keeping up with the Jones’s is the stupidest game ever played- and you guys know who you are.

The Chinese, Japanese and Asian markets have steadily flooded the market with small fuel efficient cars. Foreign cars are the most popular cars on the market. Their small, safe, comfortable and get better gas mileage than any domestic cars on the lot; unless you want to drive a sardine can with wheels and no A/C.

So getting back on track a bit, the American automakers are losing billions and the foreign auto makers are raking in the dough. It’s not a secret. [Read More]

I think everyone, at some level, is interested in saving gas or going ‘green’. I think one problem is one person/entity is trying to provide a solution; it’s not funny.

You have a company like GM going to release the Chevy VOLT that’s going to require gas. Japan [Genepax] has a car that runs completely on water for an hour. The Chevy VOLT requires gas to sustain the electrical system on the car, but if the VOLT would incorporate the Genepax system, no gas is required at all.

Coupling this technology with solar panels on the car or gas with solar abilities, would continuously charge the car. Essentially you would have to have water and sunlight for your vehicle to run. Sounds too easy, but the reality is that companies don’t want to share, they want to provide a solution of their own with no help from others and sadly this is where the biggest problem is.

Pride is a huge problem. No one wants to admit they need help, or that someone else has/had a  great idea and they don’t want to ask about it, how it works or if they could use it.

Ego is another. There are too many people exceptionally happy riding around in their sports cars, hummers, SUV and other large vehicles. They want to keep the size the appearance of ‘…I’m better/faster than you’. Car companies recognize this and are trying to marry the two ideas of green and macho.

We are still looking at 10+ years before we can have a self-sustainable car. I just wish they would swallow their pride and collectively make a better product.

This is a perfect example of what could be done effectively right now in every house and building. This could save hundreds of dollars on electric bills.

Curtains are a basic decorative element that can be deployed any where and in just about any color; that should suit just about any feminine thinking individual.

It’s technology we should start using now and technology that energy companies don’t want you to use. If you can make your own power, who needs them?
