US Cell Phone Tragedy

Well, it is that time again. My cell phone is starting to act like a Hollywood drug addict hooker going through rehab. The only difference is that the hooker might come out for the better, but my phone more than likely will not.

My battery last maybe a day with me talking on the phone for about 30 minutes that day. I, constantly, have to remove the battery to reset my internet connection on it. It truly is a headache.

Now the real fun begins. I have been with AT&T for about 12 years now. My contract is up next spring, so that can limit my search for phones. The only phone that AT&T has that is not outdated is the iPhone and I am not a big fan of it.

I have done some searching for an unlocked phone that might make me feel like I am in the 21st century and found some nice ones. Some have 5 megapixel cameras; others have touch screens as good as the iPhone if not better and 16+ gigs on the phone. Most of these are readily available overseas. The only problem is that they will cost too much, because a service provider does not offer them. If you do have the money for one of these phones, take a look at Amazon. They have a good selection.

Why is America so behind in cell phone technology? It is not that the hardware will not work on our networks, because the ones I found do.
